Mary Genevieve Walsh, 86, a native of Lawrence, MA, formerly of Methuen, MA, and most recently of Salem, NH, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the Salem Haven Nursing Home in Salem, NH.
Born in Lawrence, Gen was a 1938 graduate of St. Patrick's Grammar School, and a 1942 graduate of St. Patrick's High School. She went on to graduate from St. John's School of Nursing in 1945. Gen received a degree in Human Services from Merrimack College in 1984. She had worked as a devoted Delivery Room Registered Nurse for over 43 years at St. John's Hospital in Lowell, Bon Secours Hospital in Methuen, and at the Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence from where she retired. She was a member of the Massachusetts Nurse's Association-District 4, as well as a proud member of A.A.R.P. Gen was a very doting aunt and great aunt to her nieces, nephew, and great nieces. She was also an avid reader especially of biographies, and she loved to travel.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Patrick's Church in Lawrence, MA. Burial will take place at a later date. Family and friends may call on Monday, January 17, 2011 from 8:30 to 10:30 A.M. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury St., Lawrence, MA.
