Theresa “Terry” (Oliveira) Nientimp, age 76, passed away January 13, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Francisco & Clara (Afonso) Oliveira. She most recently resided in the Highlander Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She retired after 10 years as Director of Nursing at Catholic Memorial Nursing Home and 24 years prior as Director of Nursing at St. Anne’s Hospital. Terry was valedictorian when she graduated from Sacred Heart Academy with Highest Honors as well as when she graduated from St. Anne’s Hospital School of Nursing. She also graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Salve Regina University and received a graduate certificate from Bryant College. Terry volunteered at St. Anne’s and Charlton Memorial Hospital as well as St. Vincent’s Home and SS Peter & Paul School. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister to the homebound and at Sunday Mass.
Terry was the mother of George Nientimp and his wife Therese, Gregory Nientimp and his wife Erin, Gerald Nientimp and fiancée Mary, Nancy Wood and her husband Wayne and Donna Pavao and her husband Mark all of Fall River and Laura Lynne Perry and her husband Bill of Acushnet, grandmother of Jason, Jared, Jonathan, Jenna, Jeremy, Garrett, Andrea, Darcy, Kaley, Trevor, Brianna, Owen, Benjamin and Samuel and great grandmother of Elizabeth and Joel and aunt to several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Edward Oliveira, Afonso “Al” Oliveira, Sister Mary Oliveira SUSC, Sister Lia Oliveira FMM, Sister Belmira Oliveira SUSC, Margaret Silvia, Beatrice Vasconcellos and Maxie Oliveira.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St., Fall River TUESDAY at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in at SS Peter & Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church 9 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours MONDAY 5-8 P.M.
