WORCESTER/ WAYLAND: Louise Pauline (Solimine) Vacaro, 98, died peacefully on Jan. 9, 2011 after a brief illness.
She was born in Somerville on December 18, 1912 the daughter of the late Pellegrino J. Solimine and Nellie M. (DaMore) Solimine.
Louise is survived by her loving and devoted daughter Barbara L. DiCarlo of Hopkinton and her daughter-in-law Mary Vacaro of West Yarmouth. She was the loving grandmother of eight, E. Joseph DiCarlo and his wife Kim of Franklin, Gina Melnick of Upton, John DiCarlo of Hopkinton, Andrea Malm and her husband Daniel of Minot, Maine, Lynn DeWolfe and husband Joseph of Blackstone, Lisa Herrick and her husband Mark of Blackstone, Joseph Vacaro and his wife Dorothy of Marlborough and Lori Scott and her husband Charles of Upton. . Also survived by 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of Estelle Pucci of Wrentham, Eleanor Taylor of Bridgewater, Rose Marie Paratore of Durham, NH and Joan Fahey of Avon. Louise was the wife of the late Joseph S. Vacaro, Sr. who died on June 7, 1979 and mother of Joseph S. Vacaro, Jr. who died on March 4, 1973. She was the sister of the late Louisa Solimine, Angelina O’Connor, Sabato Solimine, Grace Harding, Dorothy Wusteney, Michael Solimine and Joseph Solimine.
Louise had been a resident of Wayland for many years and spent her earlier years in Somerville. While living in Wayland, Louise was devoted to her Catholic faith and was an active member of St. Ann’s Guild, St. Ann’s Bowling League, the Middlesex Extension Services and was a cook at Wayland High School. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family.
Visitations will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 from 9:30 am to 11:00 at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am at the Parish of the Good Shepherd at St. Ann’s Church, 124 Cochituate Rd (Rte 27), Wayland.
Interment will follow in the Vacaro family lot in North Cemetery in Wayland
