Mary Ann Folson Ealy, age 99, died Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Graceland Nursing Care in Oxford, MS. She was born in Yalobusha County to the late Robert and Regina Taylor Folson. Mary Ann was a member of Everdale Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an usher and a member of the Mother Board. She was formerly a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mary Ann was a wonderful cook, loved going to church.
Visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 5 PM to 7 PM on Friday, January 14, 2011. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Everdale Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS with Rev. Larry Hervey, Rev. Phillip Brackett and Rev. Timothy Frieson officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. Her grandaughters will serve as flower girls.
She is survived by two daughters, Rosie N. Kee (Charles) of Detroit, MI and Anna M. Campbell (Harry) of Tallahassee, FL; one son, Chester L. Folson of Coffeeville, MS; a daughter-in-law, Christine Haywood; two sisters, Sarah Cook of Oxford, MS and Idessa Anderson of Memphis, TN; thirty one grandchildren, forty one great-grandchildren and 33 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theo Ealy; one daughter, Cozy Shaw; two sisters, Cora Folson and Corrine Reese; three brothers, David Lewis Folson, George Washington Folson, and Leroy Folson.
