PLYMOUTH - Fay D. (Rose) Anderson, beloved wife of the late Anders L. Anderson, and mother of her devoted son, the late Anders Anderson, Jr. died at the Life Care Center of Raynham on Jan. 11, 2011.
She was 88.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence J. and Matilda (Fernandes) Rose.
Raised and educated in the Taunton area, she was a 1940 graduate of Taunton High School.
After living in Raynham for many years, she was a resident of Plymouth for the past several years.
Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker for most of her adult life, and was a member of the Segregansett Country Club and the Morton Hospital Auxiliary.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, hiking, golfing and was an avid skier.
She also enjoyed tole painting, decorating and was an expert seamstress.
Known for her cooking skills, she loved entertaining, and serving her gourmet creations to family and friends.
Survivors include her loving sister, Jacqueline Marshall of Taunton; a niece, Susan Strawniak; five nephews, Lawrence McClellan, Philip and Nils Anderson, and Robert and Stewart Robertson; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was also the aunt of the late Scott Marshall.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Tuesday, Jan. 18th at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 17th from 5 to 8 p.m.
