San Ramon, CA/Formerly of Worcester
Loretta A. Troy of San Ramon, CA passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 8, 2011. She leaves two daughters; Karen Pitak-Santos and her husband Luis of Pleasanton, CA and Mary Mitchell of Salem, MA; four brothers, William F. Troy Jr. and his wife Sandra of Brookfield, Joseph J. Troy and his wife Barbara of Holden, Robert F. Troy and his wife Jane of Holden and her brother Dennis R. Troy and his spouse Richard J. Darisse of Worcester and Salem, MA. She also leaves her beloved granddaughter Karina Santos as well as many nephews and nieces.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of William and Alice (Wnuk) Troy, graduated from St. Stephen’s High School, the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and Assumption College. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Worcester and Webster before moving to California where she continued as a Registered Nurse until her retirement.

Loretta was a devout Catholic with a special devotion to The Blessed Mother. She derived great spiritual comfort praying the Rosary daily and going to Church. She loved animals, nature, and the sunny weather of California.

Loretta's funeral will be held on Saturday, January 22, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St., Worcester. Interment will follow in Saint John's Cemetery. Visiting hours are Friday, January 21st from 5-7 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Worc.
