DUDLEY - Franciszek “Frank” Jankowski, 73, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, January 12, 2011, after a battle with cancer.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, Aniela (Niemiec) Jankowska; a daughter, Halina Wrona and her husband Zbigniew Wrona of Auburn; 2 sons, John “Yanek” Jankowski and his wife Janice Jankowski of Dudley, and Edward Jankowski and his wife Christine Jankowski of Auburn; a brother, Boleslaw Jankowski and his wife Zenona “Jadwiga” Jankowska of Dudley; a sister, Aniela Slebioda of Gorzycki, Poland; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; nephews, nieces and many friends. He was preceded in death by his son Henryk Jankowski on February 18, 1989, by his twin grandchildren Nicole and Ashley Jankowski in November of 1990, and by his brother Wladyslaw Jankowski of Gorzycki, Poland.
He was born on February 14,1937 in Gorzycki, Poland, a son of Ludwik Jankowski and Stanislawa (Swojak) Jankowska. He moved to the United States in 1972. He attended high school in Poznan.
Mr. Jankowski was a loom fixer at Anglo Fabrics Company in Webster, retiring in 1978.
He was a member of Saint Andrew Bobola Church and a weekly adorer at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel in Webster. He enjoyed his daily walks and gardening and spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and many friends.
The funeral will be held Saturday, January 15, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 1:00 PM in Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, January 14, in the funeral home.
