James William Tyson, Jr.
Augusta, GA – James William (Jimmy) Tyson, Jr., 63, was carried by angels into the arms of God and surrounded by his many loved ones on January 9, 2011, after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his father, James W. (Bill) Tyson and his sister, Angela Houser. He is survived by his mother, Nell Howland Tyson and sister, Vicki (Ricky) Dudai; nieces Ashlee (Randy) Gunby of Appling, Brandy (Jusbyn) Locklard of Knoxville, TN, and nephew Guy (Michelle) Houser of Oxford, GA. He also had 2 great nephews and 3 great nieces.
Jimmy was born with Cerebral Palsy and moved to Gracewood State School and Hospital at the age of 10 where he has had his extended family of loving caregivers for which the family is eternally grateful. We all know that Jimmy is saying so many things to loved ones now that he was unable to voice and can use his arms and legs to jump, run, and celebrate with his Daddy and his beloved grandmothers “Mama” and “Big Mama”, who adored him.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 12:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor Larry Harmon officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
