Obituary

Elizabeth Clady-Quintero peacefully passed away with family at her side on Tuesday January 11, 2011.

Born on the Mashantucket (Western) Pequot reservation at the original homestead on May 17, 1920, at the time of her death she was the oldest member of the tribe.

Having spent most of her life in California where she worked as a movie extra in many western films in the early 40’s, she returned to Connecticut and the reservation in 2000.

Elizabeth is predeceased by her husband, Nicolas M. Quintero, her son, Nicolas C. Quintero, her older siblings Charles Clady and Vera Lee, her younger siblings Donald Clady, Eva Pearson and Theresa Hayward.

She is survived by her 3 daughters Rosetta Anderson, Debbie Quintero, Michelle Quintero, 13 grandchildren, 20 great- grandchildren, her sister Loretta Libby and several nieces and nephews.

Her family will greet fellow Tribal Members, Relatives, and Friends at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum on Tuesday from 10:30am until her service at 12noon. Burial will follow at the Mashantucket Pequot Burial Ground. Due to the dangerous, wintery conditions at the Burial Ground, those who wish are invite to instead proceed from the Museum to the Tribal Community Center where the family will soon join you for a light luncheon.
