Luther Taft, age 88, of Axson GA passed away on Friday, January 07, 2011, at Bacon County, Hospital, in Alma Ga. Mr. Taft, native of Atkinson County, GA was born August 15, 1922; he is the son of the late Charlie and Lizzie Murray Taft. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Jowers Chapel Church near Axson, GA. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, at the Jowers Chapel with Burial to follow in the Tanner Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Sims Funeral Home on Monday, January 10, 2011; calling hours are 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Survivors include: Wife, Geneva Reliford Taft. Daughters, Helen Moore, Douglas GA, Patsy (Richard) Herndon, Janice (Mike) Haley and Sara (Bill) Herndon, Kathleen (Wayne) Gibson, Douglas GA, Son Morris Taft, Blackshear GA, Eighteen Grandchildren, Thirty Three Great Grandchildren, and Two Great- great Grandchildren.
