Webster,MA.,/Thompson, Ct.,/and a Lowell,MA. Native
Jeffrey R. Kelleher, 58, passed away after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Jeffrey was the son of Mary (Mangan) Kelleher and the late John W. Kelleher of Lowell, MA.
Jeff leaves his wife of 21 years, Kathleen Jewell-Kelleher, the love of his life; his son, Kyle Patrick Kelleher, his pride and joy; two brothers, Jack Kelleher of Lowell,MA., and Thomas Kelleher of Portsmouth, NH., and one sister, Joyce Glavin of Billerica, MA.
Jeff was predeceased by one brother, James Kelleher of Lowell, MA.
Jeff leaves many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews who loved him and will miss him dearly.
Jeff was a 1970 graduate of Lowell High School in Lowell, MA.
He worked for National Grid as a licensed electrician for 40 years.
Jeff was the happiest when he was giving to others. He served as a union steward and Assistant Business Manager for the IBEW Local Union 486. He zealously fought for the rights of his union brothers and sisters.
Second to his dedication to the union was his commitment with the youth of the community.
He was a coach for the St. Louis basketball program and the Webster Little League for several years. He was involved with The Webster Lake Association, Killdeer Island Club and St. Louis Parish. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, Wells Beach and was a passionate sports fan of all Boston teams.
By his family and friends, he will be remembered as a man who lived life to the fullest and never had a bad word for anyone.
A very special "Thank You" to the entire staff at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Hospice Program at Day Kimball Hospital.
Calling Hours will be Wednesday, January 12. 2011 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at the Robert J. Miller Funeral Home and Lake Chapel, 366 School St., in Webster, MA.
The Funeral will be Thursday, January 13, 2011 with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Louis Church, 16 Lake St.,Webster.
