Mr. Harold F. MacGilvray Sr., age 88 of Medford, passed away December 29th following a brief illness. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Sarah E. (McIsaac) and Alan P. MacGilvray. Harold was the beloved husband of the late Ruth E. (St. Denis). Mr. MacGilvray was the former owner and operator of the Arlmont Deerfield Dairy Company of Medford. He started the business in the early 1940´s and worked the business until the 1960´s. He then began working for the 3rd District Court of Cambridge and retired as the Assistant Clerk following a career of over twenty-five years. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Harold´s memory to the MA Lions Eye Research Fund Inc., P.O. Box 6050, c/o P.D.G. William T. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. MacGilvray is preceded in death by his daughter June M. DeRosa and son Kenneth C. MacGilvray. He is survived by his children, John J. And his wife Florence of Medford, Claire Maglio of MO, Allen P. And his wife Anna of Tyngsboro, Robert W. And his wife Janet of Revere, Stephen T. And his wife Christine of Medford, Daniel J. And his girlfriend Diane Cecre of Woburn, Ruth E. MacGilvray and Walter Mitrano of Somerville. He is also survived by eighteen loving grandchildren and many loving great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Father-in-law of Ronald DeRosa of Chelmsford. Brother of Irene Gauraldi of TN.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, Friday at 8 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St. Medford/Somerville at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 2 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
