Obituary

ALICE SIDDONS WILLIAMS, of Hingham, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 2nd, 2011 with her family by her side. She was 92. Daughter of the late Reginald and Ethel Siddons of Athol, MA, Alice was one of six children, all of whom preceded her in death. As a young woman, Alice served as Worthy Advisor of the Order of Rainbow for Girls in Athol. During World War II, she worked for the war cause at Westinghouse in Boston. Alice moved to Hingham in the early 1950's with her late husband Paul. Alice was a dedicated member of the Hingham Congregational Church. She worked well into her 70's as a bookkeeper in Hingham; and at age 80, became a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was loved and appreciated by her friends and especially her family. Her strength and conviction remain her legacy to those she leaves behind: Son Bruce and daughter-in-law Patrice, and granddaughter Emily of Weymouth; daughter Gael of Watertown; and extended family; Sally, Rob, Sandy and Jeff of Cape Cod; nieces and nephews; Laurie, Nancy, Kristy, Doug and Justin of Texas. A Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday, Jan. 15th at 1:00 PM at the Hingham Congregational Church, 378 Main St. (Rt. 228), Hingham. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in her memory to the charity of your choice.
