Obituary

William C. “Tince” Pitts, 83, of Omega died Friday, January 7, 2011, at Magnolia Manor South in Moultrie following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 10, 2011, at Antioch Baptist Church in Omega. Rev. Phillip Robinson, Rev. Tom Studstill and Rev. Danny Smith will officiate with burial to follow in Omega Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The men of Antioch Baptist Church in Omega, Tubby Hawkins, Gibbs Patrick Sr., Lloyd Moore, Randy Smith, Buddy Dixon, Coy Powell and Gene Powell will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 9, 2011, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Pitts was born on October 28, 1927 in Worth County and was the son of Jake Pitts and Allie Nolan Pitts, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mae Powell Pitts; two sons, William Christopher Pitts Jr. and Alan Powell Pitts; one sister, Videra Luke; and one brother, Julius E. “Buddy” Pitts. He was a farmer and a member and deacon of Antioch Baptist Church in Omega.

Mr. Pitts is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Tommy Eubanks of Milton, Florida, and Linda and W. F. McFarland of Omega; two brothers, J. T. Pitts and Billy Joe Pitts; four sisters, Betty Harris, Opal Hines, Jeannette Franklin and Patricia Hendricks; two sisters-in-law, Ida Gulsby and Nell Smith; two brothers-in-law, Coy Powell and Gene Powell; eight grandchildren and spouses, Chris and Melinda McFarland of Opelika, Alabama, Julie and Keith Johnson of Winter Garden, Florida, Lori and Trey Studstill of Valdosta, Leanne and Shawn Bradberry of Milton, Florida, Debbie and Chris Landry of Flower Mound, Texas, Kelli and Jason Glasscock of Semmes, Alabama, Christy and Kevin Odom of Arabi and Brandy and Will Meredith of Jesup; 14 great-grandchildren, Katie, Allie and Josh McFarland, Nathan Johnson, Zack and Jarett Upson, Mason Bradberry, Davis and Cooper Glasscock, Blake and Haley Odom, Ryker Meredith and Tyler and Alexis Landry; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to Antioch Baptist Church, P. O. Box 635, Omega, GA 31775.
