Jessie Mae Whitlock, 84, of Fitzgerald died Friday, January 7, 2011 at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 4 P.M., Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Edward McIntyre officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Whitlock was born December 28, 1926 in Rock Mills, Alabama to the late Rufus Dee and Betty Reese Holloway. She lived in Fitzgerald for the past 15 years and was a former resident of LaGrange, where she worked for Calloway Mills. Mrs. Whitlock was a homemaker and a former employee of Fitzgerald Mills in Fitzgerald. She was an avid fisherman and a member of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Whitlock is survived by her husband: Henry C. Whitlock of Fitzgerald; children: Betty Ann & Leon McDaniel of Ocilla, Gail Green of Stockton, CA, Jimmy L. Whitlock of Fitzgerald, Kenneth L. Whitlock of Gatlinburg, TN, Michael Anthony Whitlock of Ocilla, Cynthia & Jimmy Daniels of LaGrange, Pamela Moore of Gatlinburg, TN, Patricia Faye Gast of Brandenburg, KY and Reed A. Whitlock of Fitzgerald; 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; brother: Benny Farrar of Roanoke, AL; sister: Delsey Hollis of Forest Park as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 grandchildren and 2 brothers.
