OBITUARY
Westminster
Karen (Pera) Young, 65, died Tuesday January 4, at Health Alliance
Leominster Hospital after a brief illness.
Karen was born in Fitchburg, January 8, 1945, the daughter of Walter and
Aino (Sundberg) Pera. She graduated from Fitchburg High School and the
Burbank Hospital School of Nursing as an L.P.N. She worked for many
years at the office of Dr. Svend Bruun until her retirement.
Karen was a life member of the New England Veterans Firemen's League
and was treasurer of the Hancock V.F.A. She was an avid gardener and
especially enjoyed her extensive flower garden. Her getaways to Cape Cod
were especially enjoyable to her.
Karen leaves her husband of 48 years, George Young, Her son Steven
Young of Westminster. She also leaves her sister and brother-in-law Susan
and Barry Roy of Fitchburg, her brother-in-law Robert Young and his wife
Gail. Many Nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog Hobo.
Karen was predeceased by her uncle Eino Sunberg, who lived with the
family for many years.
Calling hours and services will be held on Wednesday January 12, from 6
to 8 P.M. with a service at 7 P.M.
After cremation, burial will take place in New Cemetery in Ashburnham in
the Spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to
Hancock V.F.A. 21 East Rindge Road Ashburnham, Ma. 01430. or to the
Charity of one's choice. Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St. Fitchburg is
assisting the family.
