Gertrude (Frem) Topson of Revere died on January 7, 2011 at Penacook Nursing Home. She was 88 years old. Gertrude was the devoted wife of the late Nelson Topson.
Gertrude was born in Plymouth and attended the Revere schools. She was very dedicated to her grandchildren and in her spare time she loved dancing, shopping, singing, and loved the beach. Gertrude was very well liked by all the aides and nurses at Penacook Nursing Home and the family is grateful for the wonderful care she received during her stay there.
Gertrude was the devoted mother of Francine Blair and the late Sandi Fittingoff and dear mother-in-law of Richard Fittingoff. She was the dear sister of Sally Ann Abel. Gertrude was the loving grandmother of Jason Fittingoff, Brian Fittingoff, and Jennifer Blair. She is also survived by 2 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave., (Cary Sq.) Chelsea on Tuesday, January 11th at 11:00 AM. Interment in Brockton. Memorial observance at the home of Jennifer Blair on Tuesday from 4:30 to 9 PM. Contributions in Gertrude’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
