Obituary

WEBSTER – Marlene A. (Stephens) Piskala, 61, of Webster, died Thursday, January 6, 2011, surrounded by her family in Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Worcester after a short battle with lung cancer.

She leaves her husband of 40 years, Joseph A. Piskala; a son, Joseph P. Piskala; twin daughters, Sarah J. Piskala and Diana L. Piskala; a sister, Janice K. LaBonte and her husband Francis, all of Webster; a nephew and 2 nieces.

She was born in Webster, the daughter of Paul and Joan (Augustynski) Stephens and lived here most of her life. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1967 and earned her Associates Degree from Becker Junior College.

A registered nurse, Mrs. Piskala worked in area nursing homes and healthcare facilities until recently.

She was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica. She enjoyed reading, and arts and crafts, especially knitting.

Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday, January 9, in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St. A memorial Mass will be held in St. Joseph Basilica at a later date. Donations in her name may be made to either St. Joseph School Immediate Needs Fund, 53 Whitcomb St., Webster, MA 01570 or to VNA Care Network & Hospice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA 01608.
MEMORIAL MASS FOR MARLENE A. PISKALA

A memorial Mass for Marlene A. (Stephens) Piskala, 61, of Webster will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 20, 2011, in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace.
