Josephine T. O’Leary, 68

Josephine T. (Turbett) O’Leary, 68 of Mansfield passed away in the presence of her loving family on Friday January 7, 2011 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood. She was the beloved wife of Arthur C. O’Leary, to whom she was wed on August 26, 1967.
Born in Carrick-on- Shannon, County Leitrim, Ireland on October 18, 1942, she was a loving daughter of the late Francis “Josie” and Elizabeth N. “Lizzie” (Hardigan) Turbett.
Jo grew up and was educated in County Leitrim, Ireland. At age 18 she moved to the United States, first settling in CT. She later moved to the North Shore and then to Mansfield where she had made her home for the past 35 years.
A dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, Mrs. O’Leary had also worked as a cashier at Shaw’s Supermarket in Sharon for 17 years.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Jo enjoyed gardening, playing bingo and card games, 25 being her favorite. Her family was the focal point of her life and she especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren. Mrs. O’Leary will always be remembered for her kindness and generous nature to others.
The O’Leary family would like to thank the compassionate Doctors, Nurses and Nurses Aids at Caritas Norwood Hospital for their loving care shown to Josephine.
In addition to her beloved husband of 43 years, Josephine is survived by her devoted children Brenna J. Vachon and her husband Robert L. of Attleboro, Geoffrey C. O’Leary and his wife Kristie Lee of North Attleboro and Charleen J. Foley and her husband Paul M. of Wiscasset, Maine. The dear sister of Brendan Turbett and John Turbett both of Ireland, Olive Fallon of England, Christina Molloy of Easton, Anna Crowe of CT and the late Francis “Sonny” Turbett, Mrs. O’Leary is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Sarah E. and Aidan M. Foley both of Wiscasset, Maine, and her many loving brother and sister in laws, as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and her cat Sherlock.
Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Tuesday January 11th at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday January 10th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home 55 North Main St. Mansfield.
