Annie Jewel Taylor Penn, age 81, Nicholls, GA passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Shady Acres Convalescent Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Penn was born on September 29, 1928 to the late James Ernest and Evie Pearl Nelson Taylor in McRae, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband: James Penn; brother: Eugene Taylor; sister: Maxine Eurie Sapp. She had worked at BC Moores and Peebles as a salesclerk and she was a member of College Avenue Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 in Sims Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with burial following in the Reedy Branch Church Cemetery. Survivors include: sons: Alfred (Jill) Penn, James Edward (Elaine) Penn, Douglas, GA; daughter: Martha Penn Morgan, Douglas, GA; brothers: Ralph Taylor, Jacksonville, FL, Ronald Taylor, Ambrose, GA, Randolph Taylor, Dublin, GA, Lamar Taylor, Dublin, GA; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 6, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
