Mrs. Ethel Weaver, 90, of Fitzgerald died Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Old Prospect Baptist Church with Pastor John D. Weaver and Pastor Allen Peacock officiating. Interment will follow in Prospect Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Weaver was born September 10, 1920 in Ben Hill County to the late Homer and Polly Hobby Jordan. She lived in Fitzgerald all of her life. Mrs. Weaver was a homemaker and an avid baker. She was a former employee of Dixie Peanut Mill. Mrs. Weaver was a member of Old Prospect Baptist Church and a former Sunday school teacher for the Beginners Class, Junior Class and the Adult Ladies Class.
Mrs. Weaver is survived by her favorite son: Pastor John D. Weaver of Fitzgerald; best daughter: Barbara Sewell of Fitzgerald; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; sister: Gussie Abrams Hill of St. Petersburg, FL as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel J. Weaver, brothers, Warren Jordan, John Forrest Jordan, Bernard Jordan and Frank Jordan and a sister, Lillie Pearl McGee.
