HAVERHILL – Lionel G. “Cactus Country Jack” Orben 65 of Haverhill and formerly of Lawrence passed away on Thursday December 30, 2010 at Lawrence General Hospital.
Born in Lawrence, MA, for 13 years he was a truck driver and many years a security guard. He enjoyed playing his guitar and listening to the Country Express Band. Singing with his good friend Ray Fredericks Country Express Band. He was also involved with the Salvation Army. He also loved his dog Sam and his niece Elaine’s dog Trixie. He always enjoyed being with his family and dearest friends and riding his scooter.
Lionel was a fun and loving person who always made people laugh and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He leaves his wife Carol Orben and is also survived by his children, Lionel G. Orben, Jr., and his fiancée Kelly Burke and Michael Ames. Sisters and brothers, Patricia Gloria-Morris, Elieen Derenni, Leroy Orben, Truman Orben, Kevin Orben and Roger Orben.
Lionel also leaves his adopted niece and caregiver Elaine Singh and her husband Joseph.
Dear friends Ray Fredericks and his wife Charlene, Joseph St. Jean, Jeanthony St. Jean and Gary Lagasse.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Thursday from 9:30a.m. to 11:00a.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral service will follow at 11:00a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
