Doris Young Kendall, 80, of High Springs, Florida died Monday, January 3, 2011 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 8, 2011, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Ronnie Howell will officiate with burial to follow in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 8, 2011, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals prior to the service.
Mrs. Kendall was born on September 21, 1930 in Worth County and was the daughter of George Claburn Young and Leila Lowe Young, both deceased. She was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith.
Mrs. Kendall is survived by her husband, Clarence R. Kendall of High Springs, Florida; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Nancy Whittington of Ocala, Florida; one sister and brother-in-law, Ruby Jewell and Arvin Byrd of Tifton; and three nieces, Teresa Kim Giddens, Patricia Langley and Judy Lambert, all of Tifton.
