Obituary

MANCHESTER-Richard G. French, 79, died December 31, 2010 at the Elliot Hospital after a period of declining health.
He was born in Waltham, MA on January 31, 1931 the son of Hazen J. and Mary Catherine (McCarthy) French and had been a longtime resident of this city.
He attended St. Anselm College and Northeastern University. He served his country in the US Navy as Yeoman 3rd Class. During his career he worked for the Dunfey Hotel and Restaurant Corporation and was Assistant Manager at the Wayfarer Motor Inn, in Bedford. He also worked for the Department of Resources and Economic Development, was an Assistant Director for the NH Art Association, Manager for the NH Symphony and Box Office Manager for the NH Performing Arts & Palace Theater, Coordinator for the Community Action Program/Senior Companion Program, Relocation Officer with the Manchester Housing Authority. Past member of Friends of Friendship House, New Horizons, NH Art Association, Restoration Historical Association, and Crotched Mountain Grandparent Program.
Members of his family include his lifelong partner Raymond Tondreau of Manchester, three nieces, one nephew, two cousins.
IN HIS LIFE: he was predeceased by a brother James French.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be Friday 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St..
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM in Ste. Marie Church, Notre Dame Ave.
