Obituary

WORCESTER-Panagiotis Kasimidis, 81, of Worcester, died Sunday, January 2nd in St. Vincent Hospital. He leaves his wife of 47 years, Athina (Athanasiadou) Kasimidis; a daughter, Sonia Kasimidis Radzik and her husband Steven of Leicester; two grandchildren, Jason and Leana Radzik of Leicester; a nephew and two nieces in Greece. He was predeceased by two brothers, Haralambos and Nicholaos Kasimidis and a sister, Eleni Apostolides.

He was born in Sohoulm, Russia, the son of Dimitri and Sonia (Tsangalidis) Kasimidis and lived in Greece until moving here in 1971. Panagiotis worked at Brown Shoe Company and later worked in quality assurance at Astra Pharmaceutical, retiring in 2002. He was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Mr. Kasimidis was an avid soccer fan and a devoted family man and was happiest while spending time with his wife, daughter and cherished grandchildren. Panagiotis was a man of few words who would do anything for family or his fellow man.
We love you Dad; you will be in our hearts and our thoughts each and every day. Now you can rest and be at peace. A special “Thank you” goes out to the nurses and staff at St. Mary Health Care Center for their care and support.

The funeral is Wednesday, January 5th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a service at Noon in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
