Obituary

MIDDLETOWN, RI…Charles A. Mulford, 86, of Freeborn Street, Portsmouth died Friday, December 26, 2003 at the Grand Islander Center after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Mary L. (Rose) Teachman.

Born in Camden, New Jersey he was the son of the late Albert S. and Grace (Adkins) Mulford. He was formerly employed by the State of Rhode Island in the Department of Transportation as a dispatcher until his retirement.

Mr. Mulford was a WWII veteran in the United States Navy. He attended St. Paul’s Methodist Church and was a member of the American Legion in Portsmouth.

He is survived by his step-son: Robert E. Teachman of Little Compton, RI; 2 brothers: Richard Mulford of Florida and James Mulford of New Jersey; 1 sister: Evelyn Brown of New Jersey; several nieces and nephews. He was step-father of the late Ines E. Teachman and step-grandfather of the late David R. Teachman.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. in Portsmouth Cemetery, RI. Arrangements are by the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport, MA.
