Obituary

Worcester - Carol Ann Wilder, 68, died January 2, 2011 at home. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Francis Zinkevich and Doris Olson. She is survived by her three children, John Wilder of Cape Cod, Michael Wilder of Worcester and Marlene Wilder of the Dominican Republic. As well as her grandson, Andrew Babbitt, her aunts, Jenny Duncan and Wanda Duncan and her cousins, Robert, David, Donna, James, Paul, Robert, James and William. She is predeceased by the father of her children, John A. Wilder, her brother, Francis G. Zinkevich, Jr., her grandmother Alice Skerry, her uncles, Robert Duncan, William Duncan and James Duncan and her aunt, Shirley Duncan.

In her high school days she was a member of Filenes High School Fashion Board representing David Hale Fanning Trade School. She enjoyed writing poetry for the School Spirit magazine as well as designing several covers for the magazine. At graduation, she received the Grace A. Gilky achievement award and a prize for her artwork from the Worcester Women's Pen Club.

She lived on Cape Cod for 25 years, raising her family. She loved the ocean and had an avid love for animals. Carol worked as a certified Nurses' aide before retiring. She had a deep faith and love for God's Word the Bible. More than other accomplishments in her life, Carol devoted for 55 years of her life talking about the Bible and bringing comfort and hope to others. She did not wait for people to come to her but she went house to house as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She spoke to others at every opportunity.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 9, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Burncoat Congregation, 659 Frankin Street, Worcester. Carol's favorite flowers were lilacs, pansies, and wisteria.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Burncoat Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 659 Franklin St., Worcester MA as well as the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester MA 01606.
