Robert William Young, age 37 of Wellfleet died unexpectedly on Friday December 31, 2010. Born in Barnstable, May 27, 1973, he was the son of Brenda (Roderick) Young and the late William (Billy) Young who died in 2000. He attended local schools and graduated from Cape Cod Technical High School in Harwich, MA in 1992. While in high school he studied commercial fishing and marine mechanics. He was a lifelong Commercial Lobsterman on the outer Cape. He owned and operated the F/V Sea Skipper and the F/V Blossom, out of Wellfleet and Provincetown. He comes from a long family tradition of fishing and lobstering. He leaves behind his loving wife, Jennifer (Grenier) and his daughter Caitlyn. He is also survived by his mother, Brenda Young of Truro, his sister Kathryn Young of Truro, his 3 brothers, William “Chopper” Young of Wellfleet, David and his wife Amanda of Eastham and Harland of Provincetown, his grandparents Bernard “Sonny” and Lorraine Roderick of Provincetown, his nephews Andrew, Jonathan, Nicholas, Corbin and Hunter Young, his nieces Crystal and Evelyn May Young and his special “Uncle” Pete Butler of Seal Cove, ME and several aunts and uncles. He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Provincetown.
Visiting hours are Tuesday January 4, 2011 from 5:00 - 8:00pm at the Gately – McHoul Funeral Home 94 Harry Kemp Way Provincetown. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Peter the Apostle Church 11 Prince St. Provincetown on Wednesday January 5, 2011 at 10:00am A trust fund for his daughter Caitlyn Ann Young has been established, and if desired memorial contributions to that fund at: Caitlyn Ann Young fund c/o TD Bank Shankpainter Rd. Provincetown, MA 02657 would be greatly appreciated.
