Obituary

Atty. Henry F. Kearney, 85, a longtime resident of Roslindale, died Friday, December 31, at the Nemasket Healthcare Center in Middleboro, after a long period of failing health. Born in Somerville, he was raised in Roslindale and was a graduate of Hyde Park High Schools. He was also a graduate of Suffolk University and Suffolk Law School. Atty. Kearney was a Veteran of the US Army in both WWII and Korea. He worked as a lawyer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Welfare for many years, retiring several years ago. A history buff, in his free time, he enjoyed watching the Red Sox.
He is survived by his brother William R. Kearney of East Bridgewater, formerly of Stoughton, 2 nieces, one nephew and several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents John P. and Mary (Ashe) Kearney and his brother John J. Kearney.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) on Wednesday, January 5 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be held Tuesday from 5-8 PM. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Donations in his memory may be made to the Beacon Hospice, 32 Resnick Rd., Suite 3, Plymouth, 02360.
