Bobby Tarrant, 71, of Ocilla, Georgia died Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Irwin County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 3, 2011 at Holt Baptist Church with Rev. David Biggers and Rev. Ronald Reese officiating. Interment will follow in Holt Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7-9 Saturday evening and 6-8 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Tarrant was born August 3, 1939 in Douglas to the late Joshua A. and Rachel Nipper Tarrant. He lived in Ocilla most of his life and was retired mechanic and tire changer for Barfield’s Service Station. Mr. Tarrant was a member of Holt Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Reba Tarrant of Ocilla; sons and daughter-in-law: Bobby Lee Tarrant and James “Buddy” Tarrant, both of Wray and John & Tina Tarrant of Tifton; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law: Mary & John Henry Whitten of Douglas and Sarah & David Whitten of Augusta; brother: Billy Tarrant of Douglas as well as several nieces and nephews.
