Anthony J. Jardin, 86, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 29 after a short illness. He was the loving husband of Maria L. (Andrade) Jardin. Born in Stoughton, he was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1943 and Marianapolis Prep School in CT. Mr. Jardin served in the U.S. Navy Seabees and was a Veteran of World War II. He was an expeditor at Raytheon in Norwood and Andover for 16 years before retiring at age 62. He was a member of the American Legion. An avid sports fan, he also enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
In addition to his wife Mr. Jardin is survived by his children, Rick Jardin, Toni Klopfenstein and her husband Bob and Bobby Jardin and his wife Betty all of CA, Mike Jardin and his wife Monica of Braintree, Tina Dickens and her husband Carl of CT, Jay Jardin and his wife Sue of Norton, Lynne Jardin of Stoughton and John Jardin and his wife Doreen of Westwood. He was the brother of Moses Jardin of CA, Lourdes Silva of CT, Mary Cleary of Stoughton, Frank Jardin of Easton, Isabel Murphy of Plymouth and the late William “Bally” Jardin. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at the VA National Cemetery in Bourne.
