Worcester - Violet (Solovieff) Neifert, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at the Cape Heritage Nursing Center in Sandwich, MA. She was the widow of Eric Erikson (d. 1973) and Carl G. Neifert (d. 2001). She leaves her daughter, Erika Van Erikson of Nashua, NH who is a Navy Vietnam-era Veteran; her granddaughter, Air Force Capt. Veronica Anne Laski, an Iraqi Veteran, and her beloved pet-therapy dog, Cosgrove - a Chihuahua rescue from Mississippi.
Violet was born in Russia, the second youngest of five children born to John and Martha Solovieff. She and her family emigrated to America when Violet was 5 years old. She lived most of her life in Worcester; and made her home on Cape Cod with her daughter in 2002. Violet was a lifetime member of Greendale People's Church. She was an avid seamstress and a craftswoman extraordinaire. In her younger years, she contributed many of these fine crafts to the annual Greendale People’s Church Fair.
Private funeral services and burial in All Faiths Cemetery are under the direction of Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street. Memorial donations may be made to Greendale People's Church, Choir Fund, 25 Francis Street, Worcester MA 01606.
