Obituary

SALEM- James P. Moore, Jr., 89, husband of Jennie F. (Drabinowicz) Moore, of Salem, died Saturday morning, February 2, 2002, at his residence following a long illness.

Born in Bangor, Maine, he was the son of the late James P. And Margaret (Gould) Moore, Sr.

Prior to his retirement in 1978, he was employed by the City of Salem in the Cemetery Department of over 25 years. He previously owned and operated the J. P. Moore Ice and Oil Company in Salem for several years. In his retirement years, he worked as a crossing guard for the Salem Police Department.

A resident of Salem since the age of 5, Mr. Moore was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Veragua Council, #76 of Salem.

Besides his wife, with whom he shared 62 years of marriage, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Bob Tondreault of Beverly, one son and daughter-in-law, Raymond and Linda Moore of Byfield, five grandchildren, Eileen LeBlanc of Beverly, Linda Iwanicki of Londonderry, NH, James Moore of W. Newfield, Maine, Donald Moore of Haverhill, Robert Moore of Derry, NH, and seven great grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2002, at 9 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am in the Chapel of St James Church, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday, 4 to 8 pm. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
