Arthur M. Alves, age 86, formerly of Fall River passed away December 27, 2010. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Arruda) Alves and son of the late Jose M. and Mary (Almeida) Alves. Prior to retiring in 1974, Arthur served for 20 years as a Fall River Police Officer. He was a U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran of WW II, a member of the Fall River Municipal Employees, and the Massachusetts Police Association.
Arthur was the father of Richard A. Alves of Port Orange, FL, Joan M. (Alves) Pugh of Wareham, MA, grandfather of 6, great grandfather of 2, and uncle to several nieces & nephews.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St., Fall River TUESDAY at 8:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Ann’s Church, Raynham at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton. Calling hours: MONDAY 6-8 P.M.
