Robert B. Kelly, 86, of Mystic, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at The Westerly Hospital.
Mr. Kelly was born on June 2, 1924, in Winchester, Mass., the son of the late John and Margaret Kelly. Bob graduated from Boston University and retired from General Electric Co., after a long career as a financial manager, where he was inducted into the GE Propulsion Hall of Fame.
He was the loving husband of his wife of 62 years, Ruth (Hunter) Kelly. In addition to his wife Ruth, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Carmel Kelly, and his son, Matthew Kelly, his daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Mitchell Heffernan, his daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Steven Topor, his son and daughter-in-law, Jerome and Joan Kelly; and ten grandchildren.
After raising their family in North Reading, Mass., Bob and Ruth moved and retired to Sandwich, Mass., where they lived until 2005 when they moved to Stoneridge senior living community in Mystic. Bob was an avid golfer and gardener, happily sharing the bounty of his garden with friends and neighbors.
A memorial service was held at Stoneridge, Dec. 29, 2010.
