TAUNTON - Manuela G. (Dutra) Alberto, wife of the late Manuel da Rosa Alberto, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on Dec. 26, 2010.
She was 78.
Born in Horta, Faial, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Francisca (Silveira) Dutra.
Mrs. Alberto was a homemaker for much of her adult life, and a Taunton resident for the past eighteen years.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, she enjoyed crocheting, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Gilberto Alberto of CA and Antonio Alberto of Taunton; five daughters, Maria F. Goulart, Leodina Freitas, Maria M. Andrade, Cindy Rosa and Elizabeth Dutra, all of Taunton; two sisters, Zulmira da Silva of Faial, Azores and Fatima da Silva of Ponta Delgada, St. Michael, Azores; a brother-in-law, two sisters-in-law, fifteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Jose M. Alberto, and the sister of the late Antonio Dutra, Gilberto Dutra and Filomena Correia.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Thursday, Dec. 30th at 11 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 12 noon.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Dec. 29th from 5 to 8 p.m.
