Obituary

Auburn - Hazel Mae (Prest) Ellis, 86, widow of Robert C. Ellis, died at home, Friday, December 24, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Worcester, daughter of John and Myrtle (Nelson) Prest. Hazel was a graduate of David Hall Fanning Trade School. She worked as a Nurse's Aide for several local agencies. Hazel was a member of the former 1st Christian Bethany Church of Worcester and was a member of the New England Country-Western Association. She loved to dance and spend time with her family and friends.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Joseph LaVenture of Auburn; a son Randy Ellis and his companion Arlene Beals of Westboro; a brother Frances Prest; seven grandsons; 12 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law Judy (Quinn) Ellis. She also leaves her dear friend and companion Bob Bullock; and Linda (Legare) Ellis, Elaine (Dodd) Ellis, and Jane (Consolie) Ellis. Her son Wayne Ellis died on October 22, 2010. She was also predeceased by a sister Lillian Thibeault and a brother John Prest.

Services will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Calling hours: Tues., Jan. 4, 2011, 5-9 pm. Funeral: Weds., Jan. 5, 2011, 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation at www.Mass.wish.org.
