WEBSTER - Chester C. Jankowski, Jr., 74, of Pearl St., died Thursday, December 23, 2010, in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester after an illness.
He leaves a sister, Sally P. Madura of Southbridge; 2 brothers, Raymond P. Jankowski and his wife Mary Irene Jankowski, and Victor J. Jankowski and his wife Helen L. Jankowski, all of Webster; and many nephews and nieces.
He was born in Webster, the son of Chester C. Jankowski, Sr. and Victoria M. (Pietruszka) Jankowski, and was a lifelong resident. He attended Bartlett High School.
Mr. Jankowski worked as a packer and then as a custodian at Cranston Print Works Company for many years before he retired in 1996.
He was a communicant of Saint Joseph Basilica and volunteered to help at its yearly parish festival. He was a 3rd degree member of the Webster Knights of Columbus Council #228 and a 4th degree member of the John Cardinal Wright Assembly #1924 in Worcester. He enjoyed camping, going to flea markets, and sports, especially baseball and football.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, December 29, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 28, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
