Salvatore M. Valente of Stoneham passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2010. He was 85 years old.
Born in Stoneham, Salvatore was the son of the late Maria G. (Rotondo) and Paul Valente. Salvatore was a warm and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be sorely missed.
Salvatore was a member of BPOE # 1276 Wakefield, Knights of Columbus # 4982 in Wilmington and Woburn South End Italian Independent Club. He was retired from Kraft Foods, Atlantic Gelatin Division after 49 years.
Salvatore was the beloved husband for 56 years of Helen L. (DiNinno) Valente. He was the devoted father of Diana M. Valente of Tewksbury, Paul E. Valente and his wife Theresa of Milford and the late Edward L. Valente. Cherished grandfather of Maria H. Barlow and her husband Andrew of Weymouth and Olivia H. and Nicholas S. Valente, both of Milford. Loving great grandfather of Dylan T. Barlow of Weymouth. Dear brother of Mary Sapienza and her late husband Tony of Stoneham and the late Anna Cimina and her husband Dominic. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and his beloved dog, Brittany.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home, 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Tuesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Salvatore’s life in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Monday from 4-8pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants will be available. Interment Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
