Marie Tucker Ethridge, 84, of Ty Ty died Wednesday, December 22, 2010, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Memorial graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 24, 2010, at Waterloo Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Ethridge was born on May 9, 1926 in Colquitt County and was the daughter of Ancel Clayton Tucker and Ella Suggs Tucker, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Jackson Ethridge, Sr.; and eleven brothers and sisters, Homer Tucker, James Tucker, Lucy Moore, R. J. Tucker, Jocie Lee Apperson, Julian Tucker, A. C. Tucker, Magdalene Fletcher, Darthy Tucker, Ernest Welch and Vera Mae Murphy. She was retired from J. P. Stevens and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Mrs. Ethridge is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gerald and Doris Ethridge and Johnny Jackson Ethridge, Jr., all of Ty Ty; her brothers and sisters, Buddy Tucker, Betty Ann Troup, Larce Shearl, Carolyn Ray and Zelma Taylor; three grandchildren and their spouses, Tammy and Dennis Sledge, Buck and Melissa Ethridge and Vickie Ethridge; and seven great-grandchildren, Allie, Cruise, Conner, Trey, Annabelle, Ansley and Tucker.
