Obituary

Paul E. Keenan 79, of Franklin, and a former resident of West Roxbury, died Monday December 20, 2010 following an illness. He was the husband of the late Joan A. (McAndrew) Keenan, who died this past October.
Born in Boston, January 9, 1931 a son of the late Thomas W. and Helen V. (Burke) Keenan, he had been a resident of Franklin for over 40 years.
Mr. Keenan was raised in Boston and educated in Roslindale; he also attended the former Feener Technical School in Boston, and until his retirement, worked for Mass Highway Department as a civil engineer for 37 years.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict, and attained the rank of Specialist. He was awarded the good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged in December 1956.
He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, yard work and tinkering around the house. He also treasured time spent with his family and grandchildren.
Mr. Keenan is survived by 2 sons; Richard F. Keenan and his wife Laurie of Whitinsville, William E. Keenan and his wife Lori of Corona, California, 2 daughters; Kathleen M. Morrison & her husband Robert of Whitinsville and Janet T. Valentine and her husband Jay of Rochester, New York, 2 brothers; Joseph & Donald Keenan of South Boston and 2 sisters; Marilyn Mellen of Dedham & Helen Jones of Brockton.
Also surviving are his grandchildren Ariana, Connor, Matthew, Taylor & Michael Keenan, Hannah & Luke Morrison and Michael & Nicholas Valentine, and many nieces & nephews.
He was the brother of the late Thomas, Gerald, Walter, Robert and Marie Keenan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral with military honors Thursday Dec. 23rd, at 9:30AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin (www.oterifuneralhome.com), with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM.
Burial will follow in St. Mary’s cemetery.
Calling hours are Wednesday December 22nd from 4-7PM & Thursday 9-9:30AM.
