Obituary

Methuen, MA – Selwyn “Sully” Farrar, 90, died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the Holy Family Hospital.

Born in England, Mr. Farrar received his education locally. During World War II he served his country in the U.S. Navy,serving on the NTS and the USS South Dakota where he received the following; The European African Middle Eastern Area Philippine Liberation Ribbon 2 stars, and Asiatic Pacific Area with 13 Stars prior to being honorably discharged at wars end.

Mr. Farrar wanted to give a special thank you to Dr. Stephen Galizio and the 4th floor nurses at the Holy Family Hospital for the wonderful care received.
According to his family Sully loved his flower garden and was very fond of his dog Jamie and was blessed with wonderful neighbors and friends.
The widower of Florence (Lester) Farrar he is survived by his daughter Jane S. Ruggiero of Methuen. Survivors also include 2 grandchildren Dawn Wrobel of Pelham, NH, and Blake Ruggiero of Salem, NH, 3 greatgrandchildren JJ, Jake, and Brooke Wrobel. Mr. Farrar was predeceased by his son-in-law Anthony M. Ruggiero.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral Services will take place on Thursday afternoon at 1 P.M. from the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen with burial to follow in the Bellevue Cemetery of Lawrence. Friends will be warmly received on Wednesday from 4:00P.M. – 8:00 Pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the M.S.P.C.A. 400 Broadway Methuen, MA 01844.
