Obituary

Cleala Mae Adams, age 86, died on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. Cleala Mae was born on June 23, 1924 to the late Chancie Lee and Jane Ophelia White Toliver. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Spring Hill North Missionary Church. She later joined Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church where she remained faithful until her health failed. There she served on the mother’s board.

She was united in Holy matrimony to the late George Washington Adams. To this union two daughters and two sons were born.

Cleala was a retired factory worker from Motts Incoporation. She also was a member of the Yalobusha County Homemaker’s Club.

A wake is planned for Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 5 until 7 pm. Services for Mrs. Adams will be at Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church in Panola County, MS on Monday, December 27, 2010 at 12 Noon with Rev. Preston Gleeton, Sr. presiding. Interment will take place in Pleasant Green Church Cemetery immediately following the service.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters: Minnie (Willie) Douglass of Chicago, IL and Mildred (James) Judson of Water Valley, MS; one son, George Wesley (Pearlie) Adams of Milan, IL; three sisters, Janie L. Phose, Lila R. Morgan, and Gladys Kilgore all of Grand Rapids, MI; ten grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Lester Adams; one sister, Annie C. Hornbuger; and two brothers, Chancie Lee Toliver and James Lacy Toliver.
