Vincenza M. “Vinnie” Vozzella, 95, a lifetime resident of Winchester, passed away Dec. 19th. Born, raised and educated in Winchester, she was the beloved daughter of the late Charles and Pasqualina (Todesca) Vozzella. A devoted daughter, since her mother had passed when Vinnie was quite young Ms. Vozzella assumed the caregiving responsibilies for her father in his later years. For many years, she was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a secretary with the division of Health and Human Services. An avid gardener, she enjoyed raising vegetables and flowers, and she took pride in the beautiful garden border at her home in Winchester. Ms. Vozzella enjoyed cooking and baking, and anyone who visited always went away with some of her delicacies. In her spare time she also enjoyed crocheting afghans and blankets, playing bingo, traveling to Cuba and Florida and attending local theater and Broadway performances. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church. Vinnie was the loving sister of the late Mary Bevilacqua, Clara Salerno, Margaret Santo and Michael Vozzella and the devoted aunt of Claire Mantica of Woburn, Nannette Dolan of Stoneham, Mary Bennett of AZ, Francis Riley of NY, Theresa Salerno of MN, Michelle Martindale of Lynnfield, Paul Salerno of Malden, Charles Salerno of Wakefield, Andrew Santo of Reading, Anthony Santo of Winchester and the late Anthony Bevilacqua, Lena Bevilacqua and Margaret Bertolami. She was predeceased by her dog Lucy and survived by her beloved cat Lester. Her funeral will be held from the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Wed., Dec. 22 at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church 155 Washington St. Winchester on at 10AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting Hours are Tues. 2-4 & 7-9PM. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Winchester.
