WAYLAND/ CLEARWATER, FL: Joseph E. “Joe” Pescosolido, 96, died peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010 following a brief illness.
He was born in Worcester on September 3, 1914 the son of the lat Bernardo and Angelina ( Razzina) Pescosolido.
He was the beloved and devoted husband for 56 years of Charlotte L. (Anzivino) Pescosolido of Clearwater, FL formerly of Wayland. Loving father of Peter Pescosolido of Marlborough; Paul Pescosolido of Wayland and Toni-Jo P. Birk and her husband Bart of Westhampton Beach, NY. Cherished Grampee of Antonio and Alexandra Birk of Westhampton Beach, NY. Joe was the last of five siblings who pre-deceased him.
Joe spent his formative years on Newton and graduated from Cheshire Academy in Cheshire, CT. He attended Yale University in CT and had a long and distinguished career as a salesman with Charles Gilman and Son of Boston. He and his wife Charlotte retired to Clearwater, Florida and have resided there for 25 years. They spent their summers at their Marshfield residence and previously resided in Wayland for over 35 years. Joe loved to walk and to read as well as doing crossword puzzles. He loved to spend time in Marshfield with his family and was also an avid Boston sports fan. He will be dearly missed by his loving family.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
Funeral services and interment will be private.
