Verdonna Sindy James, 56, Indian Mound, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 10:00 AM Monday at Oakwood Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Dwayne James officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born in Noble County, IN. August 17, 1954 the daughter of Arvin Van Houten and Joyce Ginther Van Houten. She was a member of Oakwood Free Will Baptist Church where she taught the adult Sunday school class. Sindy finished her course, won the race and kept her faith. She is survived by her husband Lee James of Indian Mound, two sons Tim(April)James, Todd(Jennifer)James, one brother Tom Van Houten, three sisters Rose Ann(James) Browning, Ruth(Sam)Buckles, Sue(Dennis) Sorgenfrei, five grandchildren Owen, Ethan, Corbin, Mason and Landon. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Oakwood Freewill Baptist Church 2551 Church Lane Woodlawn, TN. 37191
