Mary Elizabeth McCall Walton, 84, of Tifton died Saturday, December 18, 2010, at Golden Living Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Sam Rogers will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 20, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Walton was born on March 19, 1926 in Colquitt County and was the daughter of James Fletcher “Doc” McCall and Nellie Mae Welch McCall, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis Anderson Greer; her second husband, Abel B. Walton; and two brothers, John Samuel “Bud” McCall and Charles “Bennie” McCall. She spent most of her life in the Tift County area and was a member of Tifton’s First United Methodist Church. She had worked for J.P. Stevens Company and J.C. Penney Company.
Mrs. Walton is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby L. and Elaine P. Greer of Hampton; and three grandsons, T. J. Powell of Newnan and Jonathan Greer and Hudson Greer, both of Hampton.
