Clara Busbin Jordan, 99, of Waterloo died Friday, December 17, 2010, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2010, at Macedonia Baptist Church. Rev. Marion Atkinson will officiate with burial to follow in Waterloo Baptist Church Cemetery. Sidney Jordan, Robert Phillips, Philip Jordan, John Bezares, Jeffrey Stark and Bruce Hampton will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 19, 2010, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Jordan was born on November 12, 1911 in Heard County and was the daughter of Henry Herring Busbin and Tyus Etta Veal Busbin, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charley Wesley Jordan, Sr. She was a wife, mother, homemaker and seamstress. She also worked as a welder in the shipyards in Tampa, Florida during World War II and she was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Chula.
Mrs. Jordan is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Charley Wesley Jr. and Sherry Jordan of Ocala, Florida and Gary Boyd Jordan of Waterloo; one daughter, Beverly Oglsby of Keystone Heights, Florida; one brother, Franklin Busbin of Chula; four sisters, Jewel Robinson and Bernice Duckworth, both of Warner Robins and Jackie Hampton and Norma Baker, both of Chula; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandchild.
