Obituary

Joseph P. Wilfert Sr., 72, of Plainville, died Friday, December 17, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Eleanor “Babe” (Kell) Wilfert to whom he married in 1958.

Born in Boston on December 29, 1937, he was a son of the late George and Ruth (Houghton) Wilfert.

Mr. Wilfert was a resident of Plainville since 1978 and formerly resided in Wrentham and Franklin.

Before his retirement, he was a baker at Hanley’s Bakery in West Roxbury for 30 years and had previously worked at Eagerman’s Bakery in Natick.

Mr. Wilfert loved vacationing in New Hampshire, Cape Cod Canal and Cocoa Beach, Florida.

Besides his wife, he is survived by six children, Pamela Plante and her husband, Charlie of Bethlehem, NH, Joseph Wilfert Jr. and his fiancée Angela of Blackstone, Tammy Robillard and her husband Daniel of Plainville, Robert Wilfert and his partner David Fox of Hamden, CT, Keith Wilfert and his wife Kathy of No. Attleboro and Jamie Parker and her husband Matthew of No. Attleboro and three brothers, George Wilfert of So. Weymouth, Raymond Wilfert of Hyde Park and Peter Wilfert of Georgia.

He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Stevie, Jake, Vicki, Jenn, Andrew, Christian, Keith, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Brodie and Justin and two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Matthew.

He was a brother of the late Richard Wilfert.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Tuesday, December 21 at 10 a.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. in Franklin.

Burial will follow at Wrentham Center Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 – 8 p.m.
