Obituary

Mr. Charles Eldridge (Charlie) King, age 70, husband of Mary Lou Epperson King, of King, passed away on, Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice. He was born in Forsyth County on December 25, 1939 to the late Arthur Junior and Arlene Bennett King.Mr. King retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and was of the Baptist faith.Mr. King is survived by one son, Arthur Junior King of Burlington; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia & Tim Belcher of Burlington and Amanda & Jerry Hatmaker of Mt. Airy; five grandchildren, Jessie Taylor King, Summer Skyy Nickerson, Chloe Madison Hatmaker, Jerry Malachi Hatmaker, Charles Matthew Hatmaker; brothers and sisters, Mary Webster, Betty Smith, Roy King, Lillian Pluckett, Ruby Tucker, Sue Covington, General King, Alese Epperson and Lucy Holt.He was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry King, Vestal King and Harvey Junior King.Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Cox-Needham Chapel at 2:00 P.M with the Bro. Don Collins and Rev. Tommy Vass officiating with interment to follow at Cedar Falls Cemetery in Hanging Rock.The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 18, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B.
